Michael Vosswinkel is a European Patent Attorney at Plasseraud IP. He holds a PhD in physical-organic chemistry awarded by the Ruhr-University of Bochum, based on research at the University of Queensland in Australia. Michael assists SMEs and multinationals in the development of their patent portfolio, in particular patent prosecution, drafting of patent applications and FTOs in various fields of chemistry. Michael worked for 6 years in the chemistry section of the patent department of Sonderhoff & Einsel, an IP law firm based in Tokyo. Then, he worked for 5 years in the patent department of a pharmaceutical generics company in Germany handling FTOs and oppositions covering APIs, pharmaceutical compositions as well as nutritional compositions. As part of that position Michael actively re-aligned the firm’s Indian IP department with the German head office (inter alia 8 months in India). Finally, he gained experience working in the patent department of German silicon wafer supplier Siltronic, handling extensive FTOs concerning epitactically structured wafers. Michael joined Plasseraud IP in 2019.
