Laurence Loumes is a Partner and a French and European Patent Attorney at Plasseraud IP.
She spent 14 years in the United States and Canada before joining Plasseraud IP, where she practiced as both a U.S. and Canadian patent agent. Laurence has nearly 20 years of experience in patent drafting, prosecution, and litigation.
She holds a Ph.D. in Fluid Mechanics from Caltech and an LL.M. from Berkeley Law. During her doctoral studies, she developed a cardiac pump model based on the embryonic heart. Since then, she has advised clients on a wide range of mechanical technologies, particularly in opposition proceedings and patent litigation before French courts.
Laurence joined Plasseraud IP in 2017 and was appointed Partner in 2025.
