Launch of an Expedited UDRP Procedure at WIPO
The Arbitration and Mediation Center of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has just announced the introduction of an expedited processing service for UDRP proceedings, designed for urgent and clear cases of cybersquatting, such as phishing operations or the creation of fake official websites.
Under certain conditions, this new mechanism makes it possible to obtain a decision within one month, thanks to a specific case management process and the involvement of a panel of dedicated experts.
This development provides rights holders with a new tool enabling them to act more quickly to curb legal, financial, and reputational risks, particularly when technical intermediaries refuse to cooperate in bringing an infringement to an end.
Fabrice Bircker, Head of Plasseraud IP Internet & Data, and the Plasseraud IP Internet & Data team remain at your disposal to assist with any domain name disputes and the implementation of UDRP proceedings, including under this new expedited procedure.
