Plasseraud IP Group promotes three partners in its Patents and Trademarks & Designs teams 

Plasseraud IP, France’s leading intellectual property law firm, announces the appointment of three IP attorneys as partners: Jean-Marc Coquel, head of their Bordeaux and Angoulême offices, Charlotte Leleu, head of their Toulouse office, and Charlotte Montaud, based in Lyon and head of the Contracts & Valuation practice of Plasseraud IP’s Trademarks & Designs team. These nominations take effect as of January 1, 2022.

With an already extensive regional coverage and strong international presence – with 14 offices, nine of which are in France – the Group seeks to expand its footprint in France thanks to these promotions. 

These appointments also reflect the importance of career development at Plasseraud IP. At the beginning of 2020, the Group named as partner four of its associates. This strategy of nurturing talent, which continues today with three new appointments, is indicative of the Group's desire to value skills and experts from various backgrounds. 

2 new partners in Plasseraud IP Patents


Jean-Marc CoquelJean-Marc Coquel, 50, is Head of the Bordeaux and Angoulême offices at Plasseraud IP, which he joined in 2015. He is also a French and European Patent Attorney.
With 20 years of experience, Jean-Marc assists innovative companies based in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. He advises clients on developing and implementing their intellectual property strategy, particularly in the fields of mechanics, physics, optics and medical devices, and focusing on the utilities, health, agriTech and aerospace sectors.
He handles the preparation and granting of new patent applications, searches and analyzes technical data and provides opinions on patentability and infringement, as well as litigation and opposition procedures.
Jean-Marc is a Mediator in the field of industrial property. He oversees a team of 12 people between the Bordeaux and Angoulême offices.
Jean-Marc holds a PhD in physics and completed his thesis at the Nanoscale Physics Research Laboratory of the University of Birmingham, in the United Kingdom.

 

Charlotte LeleuCharlotte Leleu, 33, is Head of the Toulouse office at Plasseraud IP. A French and European Patent Attorney, she joined the Group in 2017.
With a strong background in applied mathematics and computer-implemented inventions, Charlotte has developed a particular expertise in the fields of Big Data and artificial intelligence. As such, she advises clients applying artificial intelligence techniques in various sectors such as biology, medical devices, cosmetics, and autonomous vehicles. 
More generally, Charlotte represents clients on the protection and defense of their patent portfolio, as well as on the definition and implementation of their industrial property strategy. Heading the Toulouse office since 2018, she manages a team of 14 people.
After graduating from MINES ParisTech, Charlotte worked for seven years in a major French IP firm, where she developed her technical and legal skills in the field of patents.

 

 

1 new partner in Plasseraud IP Trademarks & Designs


Charlotte MontaudCharlotte Montaud, 42, is Head of the Contracts & Valuation practice at Plasseraud IP. A French IP Attorney and European Trademark and Design Attorney, she joined Plasseraud IP in 2018.
An expert in contract engineering, Charlotte advises SMEs, start-ups, large groups and public research institutions in negotiating, drafting and reviewing their agreements related to R&D and the valuation of their rights, and assists them in pre-litigation, litigation follow-up and dispute resolution. She also advises on all types of IP-related contracts.
President of the Contracts Committee at the Compagnie nationale des conseils en propriété industrielle (CNCPI, the French Patent & Trademark Attorneys Institute), and member of the Board of Directors of the Licensing Executives Society (LES) France, she is the author of numerous articles on contract engineering.
Charlotte began her career as a patent litigation attorney and now has over 15 years of experience in intellectual property.

With these new appointments, Plasseraud IP now has 32 partners.
