Cyra Nargolwalla comments in an article from Managing IP

The new European Patent Office (EPO) examination guidelines will come into force on March 1, 2021.

Cyra Nargolwalla, Managing Partner at Plasseraud IP, comments on its modifications in the latest article from Managing IP.

The new guidelines include description amendments what is considered by some IP practitioners, according to the review, as an additional burden.

“I believe the EPO’s goal is simply to prevent deliberate obfuscation of what the applicant seeks as patent protection. I’m confident that they will still allow flexibility where warranted”, comments Cyra.
