Aircraft design and IP: event recap from the conference organized by Université Toulouse Capitole

On August 29, 2025, Frédéric Glaize, Partner and French Patent and Trademark Attorney at Plasseraud IP, spoke at a conference dedicated to aeronautical design and its protection, hosted by Université Toulouse Capitole.

He delivered a talk titled “Protecting the aesthetic innovation of aircraft: design and intellectual property” and joined the round table “Aeronautical design between innovation and protection: challenges and perspectives” alongside Jacques Larrieu (Professor, Université Toulouse Capitole), Laurent Schmitt (President, Positive Aviation), Sylvain Mariat (Senior Aircraft Designer, Airbus) and Heike Blum (Senior Legal Counsel Intellectual Property, Airbus).

We thank the organizers, Alexandra Mendoza-Caminade (Director of the IP Law Master’s program, Full Professor, Vice President for International Relations, Université Toulouse 1) and Hélène Poujade-Puginier (Associate Professor, Toulouse School of Law, Director of Studies for the IP Law Master 2), as well as all speakers and attendees for insightful discussions on the technical, legal and economic issues of aeronautical design.
