Plasseraud IP at the 40th Annual MARQUES Conference in Lisbon from 22 to 25 September 2026
Guillaume Vermander, Partner, Industrial Property Attorney and European Trademark and Design Attorney, will participate in the 40th Annual “MARQUES” Conference, to be held September 22–25, 2026, in Lisbon.
This year’s MARQUES Annual Conference will focus on the exciting evolution of trademarks, as businesses explore new ways of using their trademarks and other intellectual property assets to build trust with consumers.
The annual conference will feature plenary sessions on topics such as: the fine line between brand recognition and genericisation; innovative strategies for maximising the value of intellectual property; the role of regulation; the intersection between geographical indications, trademarks and international trade; and the new digital product passport. It will also include the latest news from the EUIPO, as well as the annual review of case law from the CJEU and the General Court of the European Union.
In addition, the MARQUES teams will be running several interactive workshops focusing on topics at the forefront of intellectual property news: combating counterfeiting at trade fairs, unconventional trademarks, artificial intelligence, arbitration of domain name disputes, and recent developments in design law within the European Union.
