Jean-Marc Coquel

Jean-Marc Coquel is a Partner and Head of Bordeaux and Angoulême Offices at Plasseraud IP. He is a French and European Patent Attorney. 
Jean-Marc coordinates the group’s business in the region of Aquitaine. With more than 20 years of experience, he advises clients on developing and implementing their intellectual property strategy in the fields of mechanics, physics and optics. His practice focuses on utilities (water management, plasma torch manufacturing), medical devices, optical instruments, agriTech (cooperage, wine or spirit breeding, fencing), and aerospace. 
Jean-Marc is involved in patent drafting and granting, searching and reviewing technical data to provide opinions on patentability and infringement, as well as litigation and opposition procedures. He is also a registered Mediator in the field of industrial property.
Ph.D. in physics, he carried out his thesis at the Nanoscale Physics Research Laboratory of the University of Birmingham, in the United Kingdom.
Jean-Marc joined Plasseraud IP in 2015.
